Never Look Away
Kurt Barnert is a young painter who leaves East Germany for West Germany, hoping to build a life through his art. His childhood under the Nazi regime and later the GDR continues to affect him, even as he studies and falls in love with Ellie. Their relationship is opposed by Ellie’s father, the prominent doctor Carl Seeband, whose past is connected to events that shaped Kurt’s life. Kurt must find a way to confront these buried experiences and turn them into his own artistic expression.
