How WatchMora handles account, discovery, and preference data.

2. Who we are
The operator and data controller for WatchMora is: Stanislav Sliuzar. Jurisdiction/context: United Kingdom.\n\nWatchMora is a movie and series discovery product. It helps users browse titles, compare discovery signals, manage personal account features, and understand where titles may be available.
3. What this Privacy Policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information WatchMora may collect, how that information is used, how long it may be kept, what choices you have, and how you can contact us about privacy or account data.
This policy applies to WatchMora web pages, account features, public catalog features, comments, preferences, saved searches, recently viewed titles, and related API features.
This policy does not apply to external streaming services, third-party websites, or services that WatchMora links to. Those services have their own privacy policies.
4. Information we collect
The exact information collected depends on how you use WatchMora.
5. Account information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- your name or display name;
- your email address;
- your password in hashed form;
- email verification status;
- account creation and update dates;
- selected watch region;
- account security and lifecycle information, such as password reset and email-change state.
We do not store your password in plain text.
6. Discovery and preference data
To make WatchMora useful, we store the choices you make inside the product. This may include:
- favorite genres;
- avoided genres;
- watched titles;
- liked titles;
- disliked titles;
- titles marked as not interesting;
- Watchlist items;
- ratings;
- onboarding answers;
- taste profile settings;
- selected streaming services;
- saved searches;
- recently viewed titles;
- privacy settings.
This information helps power features such as your Library, recommendations, filtering, “available on your services,” and account personalization.
7. Streaming service preferences
You can choose which streaming services you use. WatchMora may store those selected providers and your selected region so the catalog and recommendations can better reflect services that matter to you.
WatchMora does not ask for or store your login credentials for Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, Max, or any other external streaming service.
8. Recently Viewed
If Recently Viewed tracking is enabled, WatchMora may store titles you open while logged in. This helps you return to pages you viewed before.
You can turn off Recently Viewed tracking in your account privacy settings. Turning it off stops future recording. Existing recently viewed history can be cleared separately.
9. Saved Searches
If you save catalog filters, WatchMora stores the saved search name, filter settings, context page, sort setting, and last result count. Saved Searches are private to your account.
10. Comments and community content
If you post comments, WatchMora stores the comment text, related title, moderation status, timestamps, and account relationship.
Comments may be reviewed by automated or manual moderation tools before or after publication. Comments that violate site rules may be hidden, rejected, deleted, or held for review.
11. Device, session, and technical information
WatchMora may process basic technical information needed to operate the service, protect accounts, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors. This may include:
- IP address in server/security logs;
- browser and device information;
- requested URLs;
- timestamps;
- session cookies;
- error and diagnostic logs;
- API authentication token metadata.
We do not use this information to create public user profiles.
12. Cookies and local storage
WatchMora uses cookies and similar browser storage for essential functionality, such as:
- keeping you signed in;
- protecting forms from misuse;
- remembering selected region or language;
- supporting account and catalog features;
- saving session state.
If analytics, advertising, or optional tracking tools are added later, this policy should be updated and any required consent controls should be implemented before those tools are used.
13. How we use information
WatchMora uses information to:
- create and manage your account;
- authenticate you;
- send password reset and email verification messages;
- provide Watchlist, Library, comments, preferences, and recommendations;
- remember your selected streaming services and watch region;
- show relevant catalog results;
- store Saved Searches and Recently Viewed history;
- moderate comments and protect the community;
- prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access;
- troubleshoot errors and improve the service;
- comply with legal or operational obligations.
14. Legal bases and reasons for processing
Depending on your location and applicable law, WatchMora may process personal information because:
- it is needed to provide the account and product features you request;
- it is needed for security, fraud prevention, moderation, and service integrity;
- you have given consent for optional settings where consent is required;
- it is needed to comply with legal obligations;
- it is based on legitimate interests such as operating and improving the service, provided those interests do not override your rights.
15. Sharing information
WatchMora does not sell user account data as part of its normal operation.
We may share limited information with service providers that help operate WatchMora, such as hosting providers, email delivery providers, database infrastructure, security tools, and other technical vendors. These providers should process information only as needed to provide their services.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the security of the service, to investigate abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of WatchMora, users, or others.
16. Third-party content and data sources
WatchMora uses third-party data sources for movie, series, people, provider, and availability information. Availability data may vary by region and can change over time.
Using WatchMora does not give WatchMora access to your external streaming accounts.
When you follow links to third-party services, your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
17. Data retention
We keep account data while your account exists or as long as needed to provide WatchMora features.
Some information can be deleted or cleared by you, including:
- Recently Viewed history;
- Saved Searches;
- selected streaming services;
- Watchlist and library actions;
- comments where deletion is supported;
- account data through account deletion.
If you delete your account, WatchMora removes your account and personal rows according to the current account deletion system. Some technical backups or logs may remain for a limited time as part of normal operational backup and security processes.
18. Your choices and controls
You can manage several privacy-related settings from your account, including:
- Recently Viewed tracking;
- streaming-service preferences;
- saved searches;
- watchlist and library items;
- account data export;
- account deletion;
- product email preference, where available.
Essential transactional emails, such as password reset or email verification, may still be sent when needed to operate your account.
19. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- access your personal information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your account or request deletion of certain data;
- export your account data;
- object to certain processing;
- restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- contact a data protection authority.

20. Security
WatchMora uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account data. This includes hashed passwords, authenticated account actions, access controls, CSRF protection for forms, and administrative access restrictions.
No online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your account password safe and for using a secure email account.
21. Children
WatchMora is not designed for children’s accounts or knowingly collecting personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through WatchMora, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.
22. International processing
WatchMora may be operated using infrastructure or service providers located in different countries. This means information may be processed outside your country of residence. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used.
23. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as WatchMora changes. If important changes are made, the updated policy will be posted on this page and the effective date should be updated.
