Young Woman and the Sea

Trudy Ederle, an American swimmer, pursues a place on the Olympic team at a time when women’s sports are met with strong resistance. With support from her older sister and a group of trainers, she builds a career that leads to a gold medal at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Two years later, Trudy takes on an even greater challenge: attempting to swim the English Channel from France to England and become the first woman to complete it.
