The Promise
As the Ottoman Empire approaches its collapse during World War I, medical student Mikael Boghosian becomes involved with Ana Khesarian, a sophisticated artist. Their relationship is complicated by Chris Myers, an American journalist based in Paris who has come to report on the violence surrounding the Armenian genocide. While Mikael is torn between his feelings and the traditions that shape his life, Ana and Chris also develop feelings for him, turning the upheaval around them into a personal conflict.
