Black Angel

Livia Mazzoni, the wife of a senior People's Republic ministry official, travels to Venice under the watch of Ugo Oggiano, a lawyer who admires her while secretly spying for her husband. She is determined to see Helmut Schultz, an SS lieutenant with whom she has a passionate affair, but the journey places her private relationship alongside the political loyalties surrounding her. As Livia moves toward the meeting, her connection with Helmut becomes increasingly difficult to separate from the dangers of the wartime world around them.
