Testament of Youth
Vera Brittain dreams of becoming a writer and earns a place at Oxford despite her parents’ opposition. There, she grows close to Roland Leighton, while her brother Edward and their friend Victor Richardson share their plans for the future. The outbreak of the First World War interrupts their lives: the young men leave for the front, and Vera puts her own ambitions aside to work as a nurse in a military hospital.
