Atonement
In 1934, thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis spends her time writing plays and watching the growing romance between her older sister Cecilia and Robbie Turner, the son of a servant. After her cousin Lola is attacked, Briony’s vivid imagination leads her to accuse Robbie of a crime he did not commit. He is sent to prison, while Cecilia breaks with her sister, and the Second World War carries the consequences of Briony’s accusation into the lives of all three.
