Becoming Jane

In late-18th-century England, young Jane Austen faces pressure from her financially struggling parents to marry into wealth through Lady Gresham’s family. Her plans change when she meets Tom Lefroy, a sharp and charming apprentice lawyer whose lack of money makes their growing relationship difficult to accept. As Jane weighs family expectations against her feelings and her need to preserve her independence, she must decide what kind of future she is willing to pursue.
