The Secret Scripture
For decades, elderly Roseanne McNulty has lived in a psychiatric hospital without understanding why she was committed there. When Dr. William Grene becomes the facility’s new chief doctor, he discovers the private journal she has kept hidden and begins examining the memories recorded in it. The entries return Roseanne to her youth in Ireland during the 1920s and 1930s, when an unfulfilled love becomes entangled with the religious and political tensions of the time.
