Paradise at Mothers' Feet
In a remote Kyrgyz village, 35-year-old Adil lives with his elderly mother, Raikhan Apa. Although his mind has remained that of an eight-year-old, he understands her promise that God loves him and will grant him a place in Paradise. When a young friend tells him that walking to Mecca could earn the same reward for his mother, Adil sets out on the pilgrimage, unwilling to imagine Paradise without her beside him.
