Carol of the Bells

In Stanislaviv, Ukrainian singing teacher Sofiia Ivaniuk lives with her family alongside Polish and Jewish neighbours in one large house, where shared evenings and music hold their close community together. Their peaceful life is broken first by the Soviet occupation and the persecution of the Polish family, then by the Nazi takeover of Ukraine and the destruction of the Jewish family. As children are left without their parents, Sofiia takes them in and tries to protect them and her daughter Yaroslava while war and repression close in around them.
