The Man Who Invented Christmas

In 1843, successful writer Charles Dickens faces a career crisis after his latest book fails, leaving him struggling to find an idea for his next work. Drawing on childhood memories and the realities he knows, he begins imagining Ebenezer Scrooge, a lonely and embittered old man who gradually brings other characters and a complete story into focus. With the help of literary agent John Forster and amid tensions in his family life, Dickens works to finish A Christmas Carol and give readers a new kind of Christmas tale.
