The Last Temptation of Christ
Jesus, a humble carpenter in Roman-occupied Judea, begins to suspect that his life has a divine purpose while struggling to understand what it is. Judas, his friend, urges him to join the resistance against Rome, but Jesus believes salvation must come through love rather than violence. As visions and doubts follow him, Jesus is forced to confront the burden of becoming the savior others expect him to be.
