David (1997)

David, a young shepherd in Israel, is chosen by the prophet Samuel to become king while the country is locked in a long war with the Philistines. After defeating their champion Goliath, he rises as a military leader and moves closer to the throne. However, his rule brings not only victories but also scandal, betrayal and conflict within his family, putting the king’s authority under constant pressure.
