The Best of Enemies

In Durham, North Carolina, during the racially tense summer of 1971, civil rights activist Ann Atwater confronts C.P. Ellis, a local Ku Klux Klan leader, over the future of the city’s segregated schools. When the two are asked to co-chair a community summit on desegregation, their opposing views make cooperation difficult. As the meetings continue, the former adversaries must deal with the concerns of local families and decide whether they can work together on a problem affecting their children’s future.
