Mona Lisa Smile
In 1953, recent UCLA graduate Katherine Ann Watson takes a position teaching art history at the prestigious, all-women Wellesley College. She quickly finds that her students are being prepared for conventional futures shaped by the college’s conservative values rather than encouraged to choose their own paths. Through her classes, Katherine challenges Betty Warren, Joan Brandwyn, Giselle Levy and their classmates to question the roles expected of them, while facing resistance from the institution around her.
