The Battleship Island

In 1945, bandleader Lee Kang-ok arrives on Japan’s Hashima Island with his young daughter after accepting a recruiter’s promise of free travel and work. Instead, he finds himself among Koreans forced to mine coal under harsh conditions, with the island serving as a closed labor camp. As Lee tries to protect his daughter, resistance figures and other prisoners begin preparing an escape, but leaving the island requires them to confront the system holding them there.
