The Last King of Scotland
After completing his medical training, young Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan travels to Uganda, where President Obote is losing power. The new leader, General Idi Amin, asks Garrigan to become his personal doctor, bringing the inexperienced physician close to the centre of government. Amin’s charm initially wins Garrigan over, but as the president’s rule turns increasingly violent, Garrigan tries to influence events while putting his own life at risk.
