Seven Years in Tibet
In 1939, Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer leaves for the Himalayas to join an expedition, but the outbreak of World War II changes the course of his journey. Captured by Allied forces and held as a prisoner of war, he escapes with fellow detainee Peter Aufschnaiter and travels across the mountains toward Tibet. In Lhasa, Harrer meets the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, whose friendship gradually challenges the outlook he has carried with him.
