Pearl

In 1918, Pearl lives with her parents on an isolated Texas farm, where she cares for her ailing father under the strict control of her devout mother. She dreams of the glamorous life she has seen in movies and longs to take part in a dance performance instead of remaining trapped at home. As her ambitions come up against the family’s demands and the farm’s isolation, Pearl begins taking increasingly desperate steps toward the future she wants.
