Life of a King
After spending eighteen years in prison, Eugene Brown returns to Washington, D.C., and sees young people in the city’s inner neighborhoods growing up without clear prospects. He creates the Big Chair Chess Club, hoping chess will keep them off the streets and help them work toward futures they have not imagined for themselves. As Eugene takes on the challenge of guiding the club, he must turn the game’s discipline and strategy into a practical path for the kids who join him.
