8 Mile
In 1995 Detroit, Jimmy Smith is a young white rapper trying to find his place in the city’s hip-hop scene. He dreams of building a future through music, but first must overcome the pressure surrounding him and prove himself in local rhyme battles against more established Black performers. With the support of his friend Future, Jimmy works to develop his own voice and earn a chance to be taken seriously as an artist.
