The Wind Rises
Jiro Horikoshi grows up fascinated by flight, but his poor eyesight rules out a career as a pilot. He instead becomes an aviation engineer and pursues the design of advanced aircraft while Japan faces the Great Depression, the 1923 Tokyo earthquake and the growing threat of war. Along the way, Jiro meets Naoko Satomi, whose presence becomes closely tied to his demanding professional life and his efforts to create a new fighter plane.
