Grave of the Fireflies

During the final months of World War II, teenager Seita and his young sister Setsuko lose their mother in an air raid on Kobe. With their home destroyed, the siblings go to live with their aunt, but conflict soon drives them away to an abandoned bomb shelter. As their food and emergency supplies run out, Seita takes responsibility for caring for Setsuko while the two struggle to survive amid the worsening conditions of wartime Japan.
