After the destruction of Chicago, Texas mechanic Cade Yeager is struggling to get by with his daughter, Tessa. Their discovery of an abandoned alien machine accidentally brings Optimus Prime and the Autobots back into the conflict, making the family a target. As Cade helps Optimus uncover who is hunting the surviving Transformers, a secretive group works to shape humanity’s future while an ancient threat turns its attention toward Earth.
