The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
In 1429, Joan, a French teenager from a peasant family, arrives at the king’s court carrying a message she believes comes from God: France must be freed from the English during the Hundred Years’ War. Charles VII gives her command of a force, and Joan joins the fight to relieve a besieged city and reclaim French territory. Her growing influence soon brings her into conflict with the political and religious figures surrounding the king.
