The Master
After World War II, Freddie Quell, a volatile veteran troubled by post-traumatic stress and heavy drinking, drifts from one place to another without finding stability. His life changes when he boards the ship of Lancaster Dodd, a charismatic leader who has created a new religious movement. Freddie becomes Dodd’s follower and assistant, joining him and the community on a journey along the East Coast as they spread their teachings, while his own habits and impulses continue to complicate his place within the group.
