The Karate Kid
Twelve-year-old Dre Parker moves from Detroit to China with his mother and has to adjust to an unfamiliar language and culture. At school, he befriends Meiying but attracts the hostility of Cheng, a student who bullies him and knows kung fu. With no one else to turn to, Dre asks maintenance worker Mr. Han for help. The kung fu master begins training him for a martial arts tournament, giving Dre a way to face Cheng.
