Robert “Rocky” Balboa is a Philadelphia club boxer who earns a living through small fights and occasional work as a debt collector. His routine changes when heavyweight champion Apollo Creed chooses him as an unexpected opponent for an upcoming bout. At the same time, his growing relationship with Adrian Pennino gives his personal life a new direction.
