The Giver
Jonas grows up in a carefully ordered community where war, pain, illness and personal choice have been removed, leaving everyone to follow the same rules. When the elders select him to become the next Receiver of Memory, he begins lessons with an older man known as the Giver, who passes on memories of the world that existed before their society was created. As Jonas encounters experiences his community has erased, he must face the truth behind its apparent perfection and decide what to do with what he has learned.
