Uglies
In a future society where everyone is expected to meet the same ideal of beauty, teenager Tally is waiting for the mandatory cosmetic surgery that will change her appearance. When her friend Shay disappears before the procedure, Tally leaves the controlled city to search for her and encounters a world beyond the rules she has always known. Her search forces her to question the system that decides who is considered beautiful and who is not.
