Rental Family
Phillip Vanderploeg is an American actor living in Tokyo who has lost sight of what he wants from his life. He finds work with a rental family agency, where clients hire him to take on roles such as a relative or friend in carefully arranged situations. While performing these parts for strangers, Phillip becomes involved in their personal worlds and starts forming genuine connections, making it harder to separate his professional performances from his own life.
