Police Academy
Carey Mahoney, a social misfit facing jail, is sent to the police academy as his only alternative to a sentence. At the same time, new recruitment rules allow people of any height, weight, sex or intelligence to join, leaving instructors to train an unruly group of recruits. Mahoney initially treats the academy as a way to avoid prison, but he begins to take the training seriously, while Lieutenant Harris is determined to force him out.
