Dumplin'

In a small Texas town, teenager Willowdean Dickson is known as “Dumplin’,” a nickname that reflects how different she feels from her former beauty-queen mother, Rosie. When Rosie organizes the local beauty pageant, Willowdean enters it herself as a protest against the narrow standards she believes the contest represents. Her decision challenges the pageant’s rules and puts extra pressure on the already difficult relationship between mother and daughter.
