In Lincoln City, people with extraordinary abilities are pushed to the margins and kept under constant watch by a heavily militarized police force. Connor Reed, a construction worker with powers, struggles to pay for care for his seriously ill mother while trying to earn money legally. When honest work is no longer enough, he turns to Garrett and a criminal gang, becoming involved in drug trafficking and drawing the attention of robotic police officers.
