Captain Phillips
In 2009, Captain Richard Phillips commands the American cargo ship Maersk Alabama on a voyage off the coast of Somalia. When a group of Somali pirates approaches the vessel, Phillips and his crew try to prevent them from taking control. The attackers are forced back toward their small boat, but Phillips is captured and becomes the focus of a tense standoff at sea. His efforts to protect the crew now continue under the pirates’ control.
