Billy Elliot
In 1984 County Durham, 11-year-old Billy Elliot lives in a mining community caught up in a bitter strike. Sent to boxing lessons by his family, Billy instead discovers ballet and quickly shows a natural talent for it. With support from his teacher, Mrs Wilkinson, he begins preparing for an audition at the Royal Ballet School in London, while his father and brother struggle to accept that dancing—not boxing—may be his real path.
