Generation War

In Berlin in the summer of 1941, brothers Wilhelm and Friedhelm Winter gather with their friends before three of them leave for the Eastern Front. Wilhelm is a career soldier, while his pacifist younger brother is pulled into the fighting despite his beliefs, and Greta Müller hopes to become a singer. As the war brings violence, Nazi persecution and separation, each of them faces different pressures that challenge their friendship and their ideas about the country they serve. The series follows their wartime experiences as they try to hold on to their connection.
