The Time Machine
After Emma is killed by a robber in New York, 19th-century inventor Alexander Hartdegen spends four years building a time machine. He hopes to return to the past and prevent her death, but the experiment carries him 800,000 years into the future instead. There, humanity has split into two warring races, leaving Alexander caught in a conflict far beyond the mistake he intended to correct.
