The Fundamentals of Caring

After a personal tragedy, Ben Benjamin trains to become a caregiver and takes a job looking after Trevor Conklin, an 18-year-old with muscular dystrophy. Trevor’s carefully controlled routine leaves little room for independence, while Ben is still trying to deal with his own past. When they set off on a road trip through the western states, Dot joins them, and the pair must manage the practical problems of traveling together outside Trevor’s familiar environment.
