The Eagle
In 140 AD, young Roman centurion Marcus Aquila is sent to Britain, where the disappearance of the Ninth Legion still damages his family’s reputation. Determined to recover the legion’s lost golden eagle, he crosses Hadrian’s Wall into the Scottish highlands with Esca, his British slave. Their search leads them into territory controlled by hostile tribes and forces Marcus to confront the mystery surrounding his father’s command.
