The Comeback Trail
Film producer Max Barber is deep in debt to the mob after one of his movies fails, so he devises an insurance scheme with his partner, Walter Creason. They cast aging actor Duke Montana in a new western and plan to make his death on set look accidental, hoping the payout will settle what they owe. However, Duke survives each dangerous stunt, forcing Max to keep escalating the production instead of ending it quickly.
