Stargate

After years of being dismissed for his theories about an ancient Egyptian structure, archaeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson is brought to a military facility to help decipher its symbols. The object turns out to be a device that opens a passage to another world, so Jackson joins Colonel Jonathan O'Neil and a special forces team on the journey beyond it. They arrive on a planet inhabited by people who resemble the ancient Egyptians and worship Ra, whose authority creates a new threat for the visitors.
