Official Secrets
In 2003, Katharine Gun, a translator for Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters, receives a classified memo from the United States National Security Agency. It outlines a joint US–UK operation to gather information on members of the UN Security Council and pressure them into supporting the invasion of Iraq. Troubled by the plan, Katharine passes the document to a journalist, triggering an international scandal and putting her under threat as officials investigate the leak.
