Kill the Messenger
American journalist Gary Webb investigates the flow of crack cocaine into California and uncovers documents pointing to a connection between the CIA, drug trafficking and the Contra rebels in Nicaragua. After publishing his findings, Webb becomes the focus of an aggressive smear campaign designed to discredit both him and his reporting. As pressure from powerful institutions grows, he tries to verify the evidence and defend the story against those determined to bury it.
