On New Year’s Eve in New York, the preparations for a major Times Square celebration bring together people facing very different personal situations. Producer Claire Morgan works to keep the broadcast on track, while Ingrid Withers tries to act on promises she has made to herself. Elsewhere, an elderly Stan Harris lies in a hospital, and other New Yorkers—including Sam and Kim Doyle—deal with their own plans, missed connections and holiday complications as their stories unfold across the city.
