I Can Only Imagine

Bart Millard grows up in Greenville, Texas, under the physical and emotional abuse of his father, Arthur. As an adult, he turns to music and joins the Christian band MercyMe, but his painful past continues to shape his life. When Arthur is diagnosed with a terminal illness and begins to change, Bart must face their damaged relationship. That experience later becomes the basis for the song “I Can Only Imagine.”
