Hold the Dark

After a six-year-old boy disappears in a remote Alaskan settlement, his mother, Medora Slone, turns to Russell Core, a writer and naturalist who has studied wolves. Three children have been found dead, and the animals are blamed for the attacks, but Core finds the circumstances difficult to explain. As he searches through the frozen wilderness, the investigation draws him toward the Slone family and a mystery connected to murder, while Medora’s husband Vernon remains away as a soldier.
