Gangs of New York
In 1863, Amsterdam Vallon returns to New York’s Five Points after years in a reform school, carrying the memory of his father’s death. The man responsible is Bill “The Butcher” Cutting, a powerful gang leader who opposes Irish immigrants and controls the neighborhood through violence. Since Bill’s followers do not recognize him, Amsterdam uses that mistake to enter the gang’s circle and look for a way to confront his father’s killer. His plan becomes increasingly difficult as he tries to survive among rival gangs and defend the place of Irish newcomers in the city.
