Citizen Kane (1941)
After newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane dies at his vast estate, a young reporter is assigned to investigate the meaning of his final word: “Rosebud.” Tracing Kane’s life from his childhood under the guardianship of a wealthy industrialist to his rise as a powerful media figure, the reporter encounters conflicting accounts of a man who claimed to serve the public while pursuing influence and control. The search gradually turns into a study of Kane’s relationships, ambitions and unresolved past.
